From the Heart of the Midwest into the Heart of the Hansestadt Hamburg!

It was an honor to accompany several members of the diplomatic corps of Hamburg and Northern Germany to the performance of the Kansas City Symphony at the Elbphilharmonie last night. The French Consul General Valérie Lübken, the Indian Consul General Soumya Gupta, the US Deputy Consul General Abigail S. Greenwald, the Lithuanian Honorary Consul Dietmar Reich and many other dignitaries from Hamburg and the area showed up for this memorable event!

It was a delight to meet the Maestro Matthias Pintscher in person and to share this event so intimately with Danny Beckley, the Executive Director of the KC Symphony, Linda Gill Taylor the Chair of the Board of Directors of the KC Symphony, Lydia Allen the Vice President of Philanthropy, Megan Hanna the Director of Philanthropy and many of the Patrons of the KC Symphony!

Maestro Matthias Pintscher led the Kansas City Symphony through an energetic and touching concert in the Große Saal of the Elbphilharmonie last night. Gerschwin‘s Rhapsody in Blue featuring Conrad Tao was an absolute highlight and crowd pleaser!

Thank you to everyone who made it possible for CULTUREUM and me, as well as for my dear friend, the conductor Mercedes Díaz Garcia, the brilliant Sarah Reich from the International School of Hamburg, and my husband Hendrik Runte to be part of this performance!
