BOOKS

The power of the written word is something I discovered at a very early age, and I have been using it and developing it for a good part of my life. Through my books, you find out about the many facets of the woman that I am today. I bring you different genres, and I show you how there is a book for every occasion!

Literature can enrich every aspect of our lives, and this is something I can nurture in you as well!

I write, because I have always written – from when I was a little kid, throughout my teenage and college years, as a young woman, and recently, as a not so young woman. You will notice that I used to write under several pseudonyms, one for each of the facets of my personality and cultural heritage. These pseudonyms have served their purpose, and from now on, you can look forward to books published under my full, authentic name and person. As always, I truly enjoy reading your feedback, so get in touch if you have any questions or if I can help you with your literary needs.

GERMAN

Dr. J

“My father defected, and with that, he uprooted our family tree, severing all ties. He took with him only the three seeds of our nuclear family, which he hoped would sprout and flourish. The wind carried us to Texas and then Kansas, where my parents settled down. But I flew on, never sure where the soil would best suit me, or where the rain and sunshine would let me grow. With my own set of seeds in hand, I have replanted in Germany. But I am not a sapling anymore, and I yearn for deep roots that allow me to stand tall. I yearn to reconnect with my ancestors. I yearn to finally feel at home.”

– Henriette Javorek

„Dr. Henriette Runte’s compelling book is ultimately about triumph of family: one of blood and the other of choice. Her family was accepted into my extended Texas and Aggie families nearly 40 years ago, when her father became a coach at Texas A&M University – my alma mater – after defecting from Romania. Suffused with sadness, hope, an humor, Dr. Runte’s story reveals a level of humanity that I found irresistibly moving. In three words, I loved it!“

– Darion Akins, U.S. Consul General for Northern Germany

„Henriette’s family story of persecution, perseverance and freedom remains forever relevant in today’s world. Her ultimate triumph and discovery of belonging is told poignantly through the eyes of a young child writing her newly-learned second language. I join Henriette sin saluting her family and or teachers whose love and kindness went far beyond the subjects they taught us.“

– Andrew James Nelson, Mayor of Bryan, Texas

— by Nira Nabro

Paris and Chicago is an edgy and beautiful book about young love.

She is Paris. He is Chicago. She speaks through poetry. He texts, and phones, and uses all of today’s modern means of communication.

Told from both perspectives of a love affair, this literary work traces with great innocence the meeting of two cities and two cultures, the course of a relationship gone bad, and the clash of poetry and prose.
